3-Day Kigali-Bwindi Gorilla Safari Itinerary
Day 1 – Travel to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Your adventure starts early in Kigali. Our experienced guide will meet you at 6:30 am at either Kigali Airport or your pre-arranged hotel. Remember to have your East African Visa and Yellow Fever Certificate ready. Adjust your watch to East African Time as you head into Uganda.
On arrival at Bwindi, we’ll check you into a comfortable, welcoming Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. or Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge.
The luxury lodging options include Four Gorillas Lodge or Cloud Mountain Gorilla Lodge.
Choose between a variety of lodges that offer great value and excellent service. Spend your afternoon as you wish – join a cultural village walk, enjoy bird watching, or simply relax at the lodge.

Day 2 – Gorilla Trekking Experience
Wake up to a hearty breakfast before your gorilla trekking adventure. Dress appropriately with long trousers, a long-sleeved shirt, hat, boots, and gloves for protection. We provide water, a walking stick, and a porter to assist you.
Your trekking group will be small, with a maximum of eight people, along with rangers and porters. The trek lasts about 3-5 hours, depending on the gorillas’ location. Remember, gorilla trekking rules apply for everyone’s safety.
After an exhilarating day with the gorillas, unwind at the lodge, reflecting on your unique experience.
Lodging Options: Return to Rushaga Gorilla Lodge. or Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge for a relaxing evening. If we trek with Ruhija gorillas and you plan to track golden monkeys the next morning, this means a two-hour drive south, near Mgahinga Gorilla Park.
Day 3 – Optional Golden Monkey Trekking and Return to Kigali
If you’re up for more adventure, consider the Golden Monkey Trekking for 100 USD per person. After breakfast, embark on this exciting journey in the bamboo forests. The trek is a 3-4 hour experience, followed by lunch at your lodge. Then, we head back to Kigali, timing it perfectly for your departing flight. If time allows, a tour of Rwanda’s capital can be arranged.
